Do you take insurance?

I am an in-network provider for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and Blue Care Network. Otherwise, my practice is fee-for-service which means you pay for services, then have the option to seek potential reimbursement from your insurance provider for out-of-network services. The best way to find out if your insurance company reimburses out-of-network is to call them directly and ask if you have out-of-network benefits for mental health services delivered by telehealth. My self-pay fees are $165 per 55 minute session and $200 for the initial assessment.

What if I don’t identify as neurodivergent? Can we still work together?

If you resonate with what I offer and are interested in working with me, please reach out! We’ll explore together if I’m a good fit for your needs.

Can we work together if I live outside of Michigan?

I am licensed to provide therapy in the state of Michigan and can only provide therapy services to Michigan residents.

Do you offer weekend or evening appointments?

I see clients during typical business hours Tuesday through Thursday. The latest appointment I schedule is at 4 pm. My late afternoon spots are the most requested, and are currently full. I do have a waiting list for current clients on a first-come, first served basis for highly requested appointment times.

How often should I come to therapy?

Most of my clients have found that they make and maintain the most meaningful growth when attending weekly. Biweekly sessions might be appropriate after we have worked together for a while and have maintained progress. If you are concerned about cost, let’s chat more.

Why is therapy so expensive?

Therapists are licensed medical professionals who are highly trained and must have a master’s degree, extensive supervision and pass boards (at minimum) in order to practice. Many therapists also invest years in specialized areas of study.

What’s your style as a therapist? I’ve had other therapists that just stare at me and nod.

I’m so sorry if you’ve had a bad experience before with therapy. My style is conversational and collaborative. When it feels appropriate in sessions, I’ll share my perspective or ask for your permission to jump in with an insight I’ve had that feels relevant. I’m not the therapist that knows everything. Often I’ll bounce some ideas off you and get your feedback to see if it feels true for you. The five dollar therapy word for my therapeutic style is relational psychodynamic. I pull from several different evidence-based modalities with a focus on attachment and relational patterns.

Step 2

I will send you forms to fill out before our first session via secure web portal. This allows us to focus more on what’s going on with you now during our first session, instead of paperwork. We spend about the first 10 minutes of this session going over highlights of the forms you filled out and your questions.
